The vast majority of Drosera capensis in circulation is produced from self-pollinated seed, since that's the easiest way to produce lots of plants. However, there are a variety of different clones in circulation alongside the "common" D. capensis, forms that express different colors, leaf shapes, growth habits, or from unique wild locations. Cross-pollinating these forms by hand yields much more variable offspring, with a richer genetic heritage and (in our experience) notably more vigor.
Our D. capensis "specialty crosses" are all the result of hand-pollinating different clones of D. capensis, and are an exciting opportunity to possibly select the next great sundew cultivar. Each plant is unique!
This plant will be shipped bare-root with a 3" plastic pot and enough top-quality New Zealand long-fiber sphagnum moss to fill it. Planting and growing instructions will also be included.
