The red-throated yellow trumpet pitcher plant naturally occurs in bogs throughout Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. They were once common in the wild but today, like all North American Pitcher Plants, they have become quite rare . The majority of the remaining populations are found in Northwestern Florida, although there used to be very large populations in Georgia.
Sarracenia flava var. rugelii is one of the easiest North American Pitcher plants to grow, and when placed in full sun, the pitchers can turn lemon yellow in color. The red color in the throat becomes well defined on large, adult pitchers.
Plants offered are well established divisions with healthy roots, and we carefully selected only the best individuals from our large collection for propagation. If youre looking for a beautiful, quality plant that's easy to grow, you've found it!
