The plant that was ordered came in the mail with four open pitchers and a fifth one that opened a few days after it was set in its place under artificial lighting. When proper care is given, it easily survives, having been sent in excellent health and taking hardly any damage from being shipped. The potting medium works well with the conditions it requires, and despite its tendency to detest having its roots disturbed, enough care is taken to insure roots are not disturbed when it is packaged. The only risk to be noted, if any, is that the plants are shipped in a plastic bag, with only foam peanuts and the medium you should use. It is possible for the pitchers to potentially be broken off at the base during shipping, as my own seemed precariously close to this. As long as caution is taken, they will suffer no ill effects, even like this.
